Channel 4 has commissioned a daring two-part documentary that will apply modern genetic science to one of history’s most monstrous figures. Hitler’s DNA: Blueprint of a Dictator will use a confirmed sample of Adolf Hitler’s DNA in an attempt to understand if his genetic makeup played a role in his psychology and evil acts.
The ambitious project will be guided by two leading experts: world-renowned geneticist Professor Turi King and historian of Nazi Germany, Dr. Alex Kay. They will collaborate with a global team of scientists and behavior experts to decode his genes for the first time. The production aims to uncover verifiable insights into the man behind the historical atrocities.
“Nothing can ever fully explain Adolf Hitler’s evil,” said Channel 4 commissioning editor Jonah Weston. “But finding Hitler’s DNA is an incredible feat of scientific detective work and gives unprecedented insights into history’s most studied man.” The series is a Blink Films production, with ITV Studios handling global distribution.
