“Hoffman Family Gold” Returns June 16 to Discovery Channel
A new season of “Hoffman Family Gold,” starring Todd Hoffman, premieres on Discovery this Friday, June 16 at 9 PM ET/PT. A true multi-generational family business is explored in this new season, as is the tumultuous competition between a father and son to extract the most gold from the same plot of land.
What’s in store for the upcoming season
Despite last year’s setbacks at the Mammoth Valley Mine in Alaska, which included harsh weather, broken equipment, and an inexperienced crew that was unable to work the rich paydirt, “Gold Rush” legend Hoffman is back with a plan to unearth 1,000 ounces of gold to turn a profit and pay off his $750,000 debt. He also brings along his son Hunter, his dad Jack, a reliable crew, a bunch of shiny new tools, and the tenacity to keep the gold rolling in week after week.
This mining season, however, brings a new obstacle: Hunter. Todd’s son is fed up with being told what to do and will do whatever it takes to prove to his father that he is capable of running his own mine site. This season, Hunter is going all in on his quest to out-mine his father.
The Hoffmans’ father-and-son conflict will reach a boiling point as they face off against each other in a high-stakes showdown, all while fending off brush fires, floods, wild animals, and an early Alaska winter. As the Hoffman family bonds are put to the ultimate test, viewers will find out if they are truly priceless.
Who is making the series
“Hoffman Family Gold” is produced for Discovery by Lionsgate’s Pilgrim Media Group.
