We all know Mrs. Claus deserves a break. After centuries of managing the elves, wrapping presents, and generally keeping the North Pole operation humming, a night out is the least she can get. This Sunday, Food Network’s Holiday Wars offers a sugary glimpse into her much-needed escape from domestic bliss in “Mrs. Claus’ Night Out.”
Five teams of sugar-slinging, dough-wrangling artisans will go head-to-head, tasked with depicting the jolly lady’s evening on the town. Given that cookie artistry is a specific highlight of the episode, we can expect some intricately designed gingerbread revelers or perhaps a shortbread Santa left holding the bag (of toys, that is). Either way, the pressure is on to make Mrs. Claus’s big night one for the ages, at least in edible form.
Presiding over this festive free-for-all are returning judges Shinmin Li and Kardea Brown, wielding their critical palates like sharpened candy canes. Host Jeff Mauro, presumably fueled by festive cheer (or some particularly spicy eggnog?), will shepherd the teams through the inevitable frosting-fueled frenzy. One team, sadly, will be sent packing, their dreams of holiday glory dashed like a dropped sugar cookie. So, basically, a typical Sunday evening on Food Network.
Tune in to Food Network this Sunday, December 1, at 9:00 PM for “Mrs. Claus’ Night Out.” It’s Holiday Wars, and someone’s gingerbread dreams are about to crumble.
