Bad contractors beware: Mike Holmes and his kids, Michael Jr. and Sherry, are returning to HGTV with more episodes of “Holmes Family Rescue.” Starting Wednesday, June 4 at 9:00 PM ET/PT, the family team is back to help homeowners who’ve been left in the lurch by careless or incompetent builders.

Mike Holmes made a name for himself with his mission to “make it right,” stepping in to fix the serious problems caused by shoddy construction. These new eight episodes see the Holmes crew taking on a range of renovation nightmares, tackling everything from dangerous wiring and improper foundations to serious water problems.

The premiere episode alone features two different kinds of homeowner headaches. First up, they deal with an abandoned mudroom addition on a farmhouse that’s full of hazards. Then, they help a couple whose big renovation project was left unfinished and unsafe by not just one, but multiple contractors. The Holmes family steps in to finish the job, aiming to build the dream kitchen and laundry room the couple was promised.

Across the season, viewers will see the team sort out some major issues, like fixing asbestos problems and improper waterproofing, ensuring the homes are safe and solid. For that farmhouse mudroom, they plan to add custom storage, an island with a craft area, and a powder room, turning a danger zone into a useful space. It’s satisfying TV for anyone who’s dealt with home repairs or just likes seeing things done correctly. “Holmes Family Rescue” comes from Make It Right Productions, which makes sense given the show’s central theme.
