Home Reno Stars Do Battle Again as “Rock the Block” Returns to HGTV this March
Premiering on HGTV at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Monday, March 6, and accessible on discovery+ the same day, “Rock the Block” is HGTV’s biggest home improvement competition series.
The new six-episode season of HGTV’s Rock the Block, hosted by renowned carpenter, craftsman, and design expert Ty Pennington, will feature the largest houses and largest budgets in the show’s history, raising the stakes to an all-time high as four teams of HGTV’s mightiest experts compete in an epic home renovation battle in the picturesque town of Berthoud, Colorado.
Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Renovation Island), Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle (Luxe for Less), Jonathan Knight and high-end residential designer Kristina Crestin (Farmhouse Fixer), and Page Turner (billionaire real estate broker and house-flipping expert) and Mitch Glew (contractor extraordinaire) (Fix My Flip) are all competitors.
Four identical 5,000 square foot residences, each worth $1.9 million before renovations begin, will be given to the teams, and they will have just six weeks and a budget of $250,000 to transform them into opulent homes reflecting their signature vision and outstanding design style. The winning group in Rock the Block will get a street named after them and the satisfaction of knowing they made a difference in the neighborhood.
“Everything about this season of Rock the Block is huge: the homes, the budgets, even the scenery, is massive,” said Loren Ruch, Head of Content, HGTV. “And for the first time, the houses are situated in a cul-de-sac, so the teams have a clear view of each other’s homes throughout the competition. The gloves are off and we can’t wait to see how these immensely talented experts bring their astonishing designs to life.”
Famous Arkansas home renovators Dave and Jenny Marrs (Fixer to Fabulous) will be on hand during the premiere to judge the competitors and decide who has designed the best kitchen and dining space for a potential buyer.
Renovation powerhouses Mina Starsiak Hawk (Good Bones) and Jenn Todryk (No Demo Reno) will stop by during the season to evaluate the entry and living room portions of each property from their unique perspectives as designers and parents.
Real estate powerhouses Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis (Unsellable Homes) will evaluate the master bedrooms, while Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab) and Veronica Valencia (Revealed) will evaluate the homes’ lower levels (about 1,500 square feet).
Using their experience as custom home builders, Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt (100 Day Dream Home), a well-known husband-and-wife team who previously won Rock the Block, will judge the properties’ curb appeal.
Season one winner and home renovation expert Jasmine Roth (Help! I Wrecked My House) will join reigning Rock the Block champions real estate broker and designer Egypt Sherrod and her husband, expert builder Mike Jackson (Married to Real Estate), to make the big reveal at the end of the season finale.
“Each duo is well aware of their competitors’ brilliant renovation and design skills,” said Loren. “They know they can’t hold back in any way and expect to win.”
A donation will be made in the winner’s name to Turn Up! Fight Hunger, which will enable No Kid Hungry to distribute up to one hundred thousand meals to children in need.
Heron Lakes in Berthoud, Colorado is a community developed by Hillside Commercial Group, and Landmark Homes constructed the homes there.
Rock the Block is produced by Big Table Media.
