Homestead Rescue: Raney Returns – Crash and Berm

Homestead Rescue Key Art

Look, tire houses. They’re a thing. Or at least they are for the Broadhead family in Ohio, who, if memory serves, previously sought the Raneys’ brand of rugged assistance on Homestead Rescue on the episode “House of 30,000 Tires” back in 2020. Now, their unconventional 30,000-tire domicile is, shall we say, experiencing some depreciation. Settling might be a kinder word. Crumbling is probably more accurate. And the Raneys are back for more, which either speaks to their generous spirits or a mild addiction to tire-related construction calamities.

This time, Marty Raney’s got himself a tight deadline — which, let’s face it, is pretty much his default setting. He’s tasked with not just one but two fairly substantial problems — rectifying a failing berm, and then constructing some sort of concrete edifice meant to stave off the inevitable storms that threaten to turn the Broadheads’ tire dream home into a tire-strewn nightmare.

So, if precarious structures made of discarded rubber are your thing (and hey, no judgments here), this episode is likely a must-see. Expect the usual Raney ingenuity — probably involving repurposed scrap metal, a whole lot of sweat, and Misty Raney’s calm but steely resolve in the face of what most would consider utter chaos. Can they pull it off? It’s Homestead Rescue. Of course they can. The question is more about how they’ll MacGyver their way out of this one. And just how long this tire-based architectural marvel will last before it becomes a cautionary tale in unconventional construction.
