A&E has confirmed the return of its gritty true-crime series for a second season, with new episodes premiering Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 9:00 PM ET/PT. Produced by Wolf Entertainment and 44 Blue Productions, the show follows real detectives from the New Orleans Police Department as they investigate violent crimes across the city.

Each episode focuses on a different case, offering an unfiltered view into the pace and pressure of solving homicides. Season two opens the files on fatal home invasions, drive-by shootings, and street altercations that left lasting scars. The stakes remain personal. Many of the detectives were born and raised in New Orleans and bring a deep connection to the victims, the neighbourhoods, and the urgency of getting answers.

Homicide Squad New Orleans launched last year as part of A&E’s push to rebuild its true crime slate around access-driven, investigator-focused content. It quickly found a loyal audience drawn to the authenticity and unfiltered access.

Season two is expected to expand that footprint, with new cases, new evidence, and the same relentless pursuit of justice that defined its first run.
