Hope Street is back on the beat. BBC Daytime and BritBox International have officially ordered a fifth season of the Northern Ireland-set procedural, with filming kicking off this June in Donaghadee—once again doubling for fictional Port Devine.
The returning season is set to deliver a landmark 50th episode and bring fresh talent into the fold. Cameron Cuffe (Krypton) boards as Constable Donal Gallagher, a former rugby player swapping scrums for squad cars. Jenn Murray (The Lovers) joins as straight-talking GP Sasha Cookson, taking over her late father’s local practice. Their onscreen chemistry is being teed up as one to watch.
Veteran cast members including Kerri Quinn, Tara Lynne O’Neill, Aaron McCusker, and Niamh McGrady are all confirmed to return, keeping the town’s core intact. Behind the camera, Paul Marquess and Donna Wiffen of Long Story TV continue to steer the series alongside producer Leon Coole.
Now a fixture in the BBC Daytime lineup and a quiet hit for BritBox International, Hope Street has become a key platform for Northern Irish writers, actors, and crews. Writers for the new season include Paul Marquess, Stuart Drennan, Brian McGilloway, Matthew McDevitt, Karis Kelly, and Noel McCann.
