The PBS period drama Hotel Portofino returns with its second episode of Season 3, titled “Proposals.” Airing on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 8:00 PM, the episode continues the story of Bella and the hotel staff, set against the incredible backdrop of the Italian Riviera.
In this episode, Bella, played by Natascha McElhone, is surprised by her partner, Marco, who pops the question. However, Bella’s happiness is short-lived as she must finally confront her family about her impending divorce. Constance, (Anna Chancellor), confides in a new love interest, Vito, about her past relationship with Tommy. Meanwhile, Alice, played by Lucy Akhurst, experiences heartache when Carlo, who has moved on, rejects her advances.
The season, which premiered on July 28, 2024, picks up two years after the dramatic events of the Season 2 finale, which included dissolved marriages, failed deals, and tragic deaths. In the current season, Bella finds herself in a happy relationship with Marco, a handsome architect. However, her world is turned upside down when Cecil arrives at the hotel, demanding a divorce. Bella also finds herself in the crosshairs of the scheming fascist leader, Danioni, who continues to pose a threat.
Constance encounters a charming local named Vito and opens up to him about her past relationship with Tommy. Alice meets Carlo, who has moved on to another woman, leading to a painful rejection for Alice. Lucian and Billy make a return to Portofino, bringing a visitor with them, much to Bella’s delight. However, Lucian’s cold behavior towards Constance adds a layer of tension to their reunion.
Additionally, Bella faces a financial challenge when George threatens to withdraw his monetary support from the hotel. In response, Bella demonstrates her resilience and business acumen by embarking on a new business venture. While Bella and Cecil work towards reconciliation, shocking news awaits them, promising to impact their lives once again.
