HGTV’s “House Hunters International” takes us to Hamburg, Germany, this Tuesday, following a Canadian family as they trade maple syrup for schnitzel. After a global search, they’ve settled on Hamburg as their new home, thanks to a job offer for Mom. Dad’s embracing the stay-at-home parent role, while Mom’s focused on a manageable commute. Finding a house that satisfies both priorities, however, may be tougher than mastering German grammar.
With the kids in tow, the family tours three potential properties, each with its own quirks and drawbacks. Dad’s after plenty of space for the little ones to roam, while Mom keeps a close eye on the distance to the office. As they weigh their options, “House Hunters International” gives us a peek into the Hamburg housing market and the trials and tribulations of finding the right fit in a foreign land.
The episode airs Tuesday, May 13 at 10:03 PM ET on HGTV.
