Hulu Doco “Jelly Roll: Save Me” Set to Premiere May 30
ABC News and Hulu announced “Jelly Roll: Save Me,” an upcoming documentary from ABC News Studios that will follow singer-songwriter Jelly Roll, 38, as he attempts to overcome his mental health and addiction on the verge of becoming a global superstar.
After gaining a devoted following on his own, Jelly Roll shocked the country music industry in April at the CMT Music Awards by sweeping the awards as a first-time nominee, despite competing against some of the genre’s biggest names. The release of his highly anticipated debut country album “Whitsitt Chapel” is set for June 2. He has already enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame, with his first country radio No. 1 and two weeks at No. 1 on rock radio.
The concert at Nashville’s famous Bridgestone Arena was Jelly Roll’s biggest of his career, and the documentary “Jelly Roll: Save Me” gives viewers an unrestricted look at his preparations and performance for his devoted fans.
The documentary reveals a raw and unflinching artist who spent time in prison as a teenager and an adult but is now using the power of his platform to raise awareness and funds for at-risk youth across the country, thanks in large part to exclusive access, never-before-seen tour footage, and interviews with the musician and those closest to him.
Jelly Roll gives an inside look at how he manages his time between touring and his charitable work, such as speaking at the juvenile detention center where he was held multiple times to encourage positive change. On Tuesday, May 30, you can watch “Jelly Roll: Save Me” exclusively on Hulu.

“Jelly Roll: Save Me” is produced for Hulu by ABC News Studios. Edward Hambleton and Claire Weinraub are executive producers. Monica Escobedo is senior entertainment producer. David Sloan is senior executive producer. Bari Pearlman is director. ABC News Studios is led by Mike Kelley.
