This episode of Hustlers Gamblers Crooks tells the story of a criminal who went to extraordinary lengths to escape justice. A mortgage fraudster, after stealing millions of dollars, decided that simply going on the run wasn’t enough. To truly disappear, he underwent facial reconstruction surgery in a desperate attempt to create a new identity and evade the FBI.
The program tells three distinct true-crime stories, but the tale of the man with a thousand faces is the clear headliner. The episode also looks at the life of a man whose crime-filled youth landed him in one of America’s most dangerous prisons at the age of just seventeen, a story of a young life derailed early.
The final segment shifts its focus to Las Vegas, chronicling the rise of a young woman who became known as “The Shade” after pulling off the biggest slot machine cheat in the city’s history.
