This October, Investigation Discovery (ID) continues its No Excuse for Abuse campaign, now in its third year, in conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In collaboration with NO MORE, ID highlights the issue of intimate partner violence with educational resources and programming.
A key feature of the campaign is the documentary Chris Brown: A History of Violence, premiering on Sunday, October 27 at 9 pm ET/PT on ID.
The documentary examines Chris Brown’s career and personal life, focusing on the series of violent incidents that have surrounded the singer, starting with his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna. The film looks into Brown’s troubled childhood, his repeated violent behavior, and the public’s reaction to his ongoing success despite his controversial record. Cultural and expert commentary is woven into the narrative, providing insight into the lasting damage of intimate partner violence and its psychological aftermath.
Following the documentary, a discussion on intimate partner violence will be hosted by The View co-host Sunny Hostin. The conversation will feature guidance on recognizing abuse, resources for victims, and violence prevention tips, with contributions from experts such as NO MORE co-founder Jane Randel.
Chris Brown: A History of Violence is produced by Ample Entertainment for ID.
