ABC News Studios’ streaming news magazine, “IMPACT x Nightline”, returns for its third season, exploring the stories that influence American culture and global conversations. The show, which releases weekly on Thursdays from September 12, is exclusively available on Hulu.
This season features ABC News anchors and correspondents, including Juju Chang, Byron Pitts, Ashan Singh, and Matt Gutman, who provide audiences with an in-depth look at the evolving news cycle.
In the season’s first episode, Matt Gutman investigates the death of actor Matthew Perry, examining the circumstances surrounding his Ketamine overdose and the charges against five individuals, including his doctor and personal assistant. The episode also features an exclusive interview with the family of Cody McLaury, who died in 2019, allegedly due to the actions of the same individuals involved in Perry’s case.
Future episodes will include investigations into illusionist David Copperfield, the trial of the Delphi murders, and the trend of “surrogacy by choice”. The show will also go behind the scenes at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and revisit the Fyre Festival.
“IMPACT x Nightline” has received critical acclaim, winning 14 journalism awards, including a Walter Cronkite Award, a Gracie Award, a Webby, and four National Headliner Awards. The show is executive produced by Eman Varoqua, with Justin Dial and Reena Mehta overseeing as vice president of Streaming News and senior vice president of Streaming and Digital Content, respectively.
