“IMPACT x Nightline” revisits the Menendez brothers case in a new episode streaming exclusively on Hulu on October 17th.
The episode, “Menendez Brothers: Monsters or Victims?”, explores the renewed interest in the case, fueled by new evidence and re-examination of the family’s history, which has garnered support for the brothers from celebrities, relatives, and others.
The special investigates whether Erik and Lyle Menendez, currently serving life sentences for the murder of their parents, could potentially be released.
Anchored by Juju Chang, the episode features interviews with individuals connected to the case, including the brothers’ cousin, Karen VanderMolen-Copley; comedian Rosie O’Donnell; defense attorney Mark Geragos; and Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.
Other interviewees include Erik Menendez’s former psychiatrist, William Vicary; “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin; a juror from the second trial, Andrew Wolfberg; author Robert Rand; ABC News correspondent Terry Moran; and journalist Alan Abrahamson.
Given the extensive coverage this case has already received, it’s unclear what new ground this special will cover.
