ABC News Studios has confirmed the third season of its acclaimed streaming news magazine, “IMPACT x Nightline.” The series will commence streaming on Hulu every Thursday from September 12. This season will investigate subjects that are at the forefront of American culture and global discussions.
The season opener will scrutinize the death of “Friends” actor Matthew Perry. Reporter Matt Gutman will explore the intricacies of Perry’s Ketamine overdose and the ensuing charges against five people, including his physician, personal assistant, and a figure known as “The Ketamine Queen.” Additionally, the episode will include an exclusive conversation with the family of Cody McLaury, another alleged victim of the “Ketamine Queen,” who continue to seek answers after his 2019 death.
Throughout the season, “IMPACT x Nightline” will address various themes, such as an inquiry into renowned illusionist David Copperfield, an extensive examination of the forthcoming Delphi murders trial, an inside look at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a study of the rising trend of “surrogacy by choice,” and the reemergence of the notorious Fyre Festival.
The series has been nominated for two News and Documentary Emmy® Awards and has garnered 14 journalism accolades, including a Walter Cronkite Award, Gracie Award, Webby, two Deadline Club Awards, and four National Headliner Awards.
