The death of Laura Letts-Beckett, a school teacher who drowned while on a fishing trip in Canada’s Rocky Mountains, is the focus of a new three-part docuseries, “In Cold Water: The Shelter Bay Mystery,” premiering on Amazon Prime Video November 11th. The series explores the circumstances surrounding her death, which initially appeared accidental but later led to the arrest of her husband, Peter Beckett, a former New Zealand city councilor, on charges of murder.
“In Cold Water” will examine this complicated case, including the conflicting accounts of what transpired that day on Shelter Bay. The investigation spans international borders. The docuseries is directed by Trish Neufeld and executive produced by Pablo Salzman, Michael Kronish, Suze Hannagan, Thomas Robins, Kim Roberts, and Benjamin Duffield.
While the series examines a tragic event, it aims to provide viewers with a deeper understanding of the investigation and the events leading to Peter Beckett’s arrest. “In Cold Water: The Shelter Bay Mystery” is available to viewers in over 240 territories globally.
In Cold Water: The Shelter Bay Mystery airs Monday, November 11 on Amazon Prime Video.
