Independent Lens Art

PBS’s “Independent Lens” presents “Home Court” this Monday, a sports documentary that goes beyond the game to explore the pressures and challenges faced by a young basketball prodigy. Ashley Chea, a Cambodian American talent in Southern California, finds herself at a crossroads as the competition heats up for college recruitment.

“Home Court” documents Ashley’s journey as she deals with injury, racial differences, and class distinctions, all while striving to define her own identity and leave her mark on the court. It’s a coming-of-age story told through the lens of sports, a familiar narrative given added depth by Ashley’s unique circumstances. Tune in to PBS Monday, March 24th at 10:00 PM ET/PT for this insightful look at the life of a rising star.
