Channel 5 opens the gates to Longleat House and Gardens this Tuesday 22 April with the premiere of “Inside Longleat,” a new observational documentary series that gives viewers a peek behind the scenes of this world-famous estate. Celebrating 75 years since Longleat first welcomed the public, the series provides access to the more than 1,000 animals and 600 staff that call this iconic British landmark home.
From lions and rhinos to the ever-mischievous macaques of Monkey Kingdom, the series explores the daily routines and occasional dramas of Longleat’s animal residents. Safari guide Dave takes viewers on a double-decker bus tour of Monkey Kingdom, providing a front-row seat to the macaques’ antics. And, if that wasn’t interesting enough we also hear Lord Bath discuss the history of Longleat, including how his grandfather collaborated with Jimmy Chipperfield to create the first safari park outside of Africa.
But “Inside Longleat” isn’t just about the animals; it’s about the people who keep the estate running. Cameras follow the dedicated staff – from animal keepers and gardeners to the chefs in the kitchen – offering a look at the hard work and passion that goes into maintaining this historic property. Tune in to Channel 5 this Tuesday at 8:00 PM GMT for the series premiere of “Inside Longleat.”
