Chris Packham returns to BBC Two with “Inside Our Minds,” this time turning his attention to the often-misunderstood world of dyslexia. In “Inside Our Dyslexic Minds,” Packham explores the challenges faced by dyslexic individuals, particularly the frustration stemming from a lack of understanding from family, friends, and colleagues.
The episode features two dyslexic individuals who are tired of being labeled as lazy or unintelligent. With Packham’s guidance, they work with filmmakers, animators, and graphic designers to create short films that vividly convey their everyday experiences to loved ones. We see a school counselor explaining the realities of dyslexia to her brothers, and a builder from South Wales expressing himself through music.
By giving a voice to those who experience the world differently, “Inside Our Minds” aims to foster greater empathy and reduce the stigma associated with dyslexia. With one in ten people in the UK estimated to be dyslexic, this program is a much-needed look at a condition that touches countless lives. It airs Monday, 19 May at 9:00 PM GMT on BBC Two.
