Inside the Hilton: Park Lane returns with a behind-the-scenes look at the iconic London Hilton on Park Lane, offering viewers an insight into the multimillion-pound renovation of the hotel and the dedicated staff who keep it running smoothly. This third episode, airing on Channel 5 on Sunday, 21 April, showcases the challenges and triumphs of the hotel’s very busy summer season.
With all rooms booked, the hotel braces for the arrival of 400 Brazilian guests, missing bags, and preparations for two huge parties celebrating the Pride Parade, which starts right outside its doors. The episode will also feature a personal story from restaurant manager Peter, who reveals his struggles with his sexuality while growing up in Liverpool. Peter takes on the challenge of booking a celebrity drag act for his party, aiming to create a memorable celebration for the LGBTQ+ community.
Chef Marshall caters to a Pride party organised by events manager Nicholas, who requests a rainbow-themed spread, pushing the pastry team to their limits. General manager Matthew welcomes a special VIP, Chuck Melhouse, who returns to the hotel after working there as a 21-year-old student in 1963. The episode also highlights the staffing crisis faced by Peter, particularly the shortage of sommeliers following Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic. Inexperienced apprentices, Jack and Dora, are given a chance to fill this gap.
Inside the Hilton: Park Lane airs on Channel 5 at 9.00 pm on Sunday, 21 April 2024.
