James Nesbitt (The Missing, Cold Feet) stars as DCI Tom Brannick in Bloodlands, an original gritty Irish crime thriller on Acorn TV. The gripping 6-episode second season follows Brannick as he is drawn into a desperate hunt for a treasure that has been hidden since the dark days of Goliath.
Two episodes of Season 2 of Bloodlands will launch on Acorn TV, AMC Networks’ streamer dedicated to British and international programming, on Monday, February 6, with subsequent episodes airing weekly on Mondays through February 20.
DCI Tom Brannick (Nesbitt) is back for a new season in which the death of a corrupt accountant reveals a web of corruption that could reveal the identity of the famous assassin known only as Goliath. Olivia (Victoria Smurfit), the widow of Tom’s accountant, stands in the way of his redemption.
They’ll conspire to solve the accountant’s puzzle by keeping each other on the edge of danger. Together, Tom and Olivia will draw in more and more people to help them solve the mystery that is each other, including Tom’s coworkers DS Niamh McGovern (Charlene McKenna, Ripper Street), DCS Jackie Twomey (Lorcan Cranitch, Cracker), and DC “Birdy” Bird (Chris Walley), and even his daughter Izzy (Lola Pettigrew).
Bloodlands‘ executive producers are award-winning showrunner Jed Mercurio (creator and producer of two of UK’s highest-rated dramas, Bodyguard and Line of Duty), Jimmy Mulville (Episodes), and Mark Redhead (The Secret, Bloody Sunday) for HTM Television and Tommy Bulfin and Tom Lazenby for the BBC. It was recommissioned by Piers Wenger, Director of BBC Drama, and Charlotte Moore, BBC Chief Content Officer.
