ITV1’s Sorry, I Didn’t Know Returns for Series 6 with New Host and Captain

Sorry I Didn't Know Key Art

ITV1 has locked in a sixth run of Sorry, I Didn’t Know, its Black history-focused comedy panel show, with a fresh hosting lineup and an autumn premiere.

Chizzy Akudolu will take over as host, stepping in for Jimmy Akingbola, who is filming the next season of Bel-Air in the US. Richard Blackwood joins as a full-time team captain opposite Eddie Kadi, replacing Akudolu in the studio lineup.

The new series will air across five episodes on Sunday nights from October or November, with TriForce Productions again at the helm. The format stays tight: fast-paced trivia, chaotic banter, and a pointed focus on overlooked chapters of Black history.

ITV’s recommission locks in the show for another year inside a primetime slot, showing quiet confidence in a format that blends education with entertainment without drifting into lecture or parody.

Production is already underway.
