ITV’s “The Bay” Gets Season 5 Order

The Bay, the popular crime drama set in Morecambe and written by Daragh Carville, has been renewed for a fifth season by ITV and Tall Story Pictures, a division of ITV Studios.

Marsha Thomason, who plays Jenn Townsend, headed the cast alongside series regulars Daniel Ryan, Erin Shanagher, Andrew Dowbiggin, and Thomas Law for the fourth season.

David Carpenter and Emme Hayes reprised their roles as Jenn’s son Conor and daughter Maddie, respectively, while Georgia Scholes returned as Chris Fischer’s daughter Erin.

The Bay has been commissioned for ITV by Head of Drama, Polly Hill. Drama Commissioner Helen Perry will oversee production of the series from the channel’s perspective.

What can we expect from season 3

The new series will begin filming later this year, and more casting information will be released at a later date. The latest case for Morecambe MIU will centre on the complicated family dynamics of a family in disarray. The victim’s parents are in the midst of a bitter divorce, so Jenn Townsend and her team will need to tread carefully around the house.

Daragh Carville (Being Human, The Smoke, Cherrybomb), a multi-award winning writer and playwright, collaborated with ITV Studios’ Tall Story Pictures to create and write The Bay.

ITV Studios handles international sales and distribution of The Bay in more than 140 countries and territories.
