Friday’s “The Jennifer Hudson Show” brings the laughs with comedian Mike Epps, who’ll discuss his current comedy tour and his role as executive producer on the series “Good American Family.”
But the episode also takes a turn for the inspiring with the story of Andrea Dalzell, known as “The Seated Nurse.” Dalzell made history as the first wheelchair-using registered nurse in New York. Now the head of oncology nursing at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists in Brooklyn, she’s a champion for disability rights and a testament to the power of perseverance. Diagnosed with transverse myelitis at age 5 and wheelchair-dependent since 12, she has not let her physical challenges hold her back and continues to fight for better access for other healthcare professionals.
