Josh Weikert, the politics professor who’s been making “Jeopardy!” his own personal classroom, continued his winning streak Friday, adding another victory to his increasingly impressive run. Weikert, of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, now boasts a six-day total of $100,202, officially crossing that coveted six-figure mark.
Friday’s game saw Weikert demonstrate the kind of strategic play that has become his trademark. He tackled the Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy! with confidence, adding to his already substantial lead. This proved crucial, as Final Jeopardy! turned out to be a stumper for all three contestants. Even with a small wager, Weikert’s cushion allowed him to coast to victory.
While Weikert’s knowledge base is clearly broad, it was his smart gameplay that ultimately sealed the deal. Building a strong lead early on gave him the flexibility to weather the Final Jeopardy! storm, a strategy that has served him well throughout his run.
Finishing in second place was Mike Budzinski, a portfolio manager from Chicago, Illinois, whose final score of $6,600 was no match for Weikert’s dominance. Revell Carr, a professor from Lexington, Kentucky, rounded out the field in third place with $100.
Even with a misstep in Final Jeopardy!, Weikert’s command of the game remains undeniable. It will be interesting to see how far this political science pro can take his “Jeopardy!” reign.
