Contestants on the Monday July 8 episode of Jeopardy! were Stephanie Lewis, a project coordinator from Washington, D.C.; Karan Menon, a data scientist originally from Edison, New Jersey; and Isaac Hirsch, a four-day champion and customer support team lead from Burbank, California, with total winnings of $100,586.

The game started with the category “The Solar System,” and Isaac took an early lead by correctly responding to the first Daily Double, adding $2,200 to his score. The first round also included categories such as “Truck On Truckin’ Songs,” “The Spanish Animal,” “Samuel Beckett,” and “Endgame.” At the first break, Isaac had a comfortable lead with $9,400, followed by Karan with $1,000 and Stephanie with $400.

Entering the Double Jeopardy! round, Isaac continued to dominate with a score of $11,800, while Karan and Stephanie trailed with $2,400 and $200, respectively. The categories in this round were 20th Century America, Capes, 3 of a Kind, Books, Vocabulary, and Fly Me to the Moon. Isaac successfully answered both remaining Daily Doubles, adding a total of $5,600 to his score and extending his lead even further.

At the end of Double Jeopardy!, Isaac had a commanding lead with $27,400, while Karan and Stephanie had respectable scores of $7,200 and $5,000, respectively.

The Final Jeopardy! category was “Opera,” and the clue was about a traditional piece for the Koto used in Act 1 of a famous opera. All three contestants responded correctly with “What is Madama (Madame) Butterfly?”, with Isaac adding $3,000 to his score to win the game with a final total of $30,400. Karan finished second with $10,001, and Stephanie came in third with $5,000. Isaac Hirsch’s four-day total now stands at an impressive $100,586, and he will be returning as the champion for the next episode.
