Contestants on the Friday September 20 episode of Jeopardy! are Sarah Preisinger, a family law attorney from Bellevue, Nebraska, Santhosh Sastry, an information technology executive from Austin, Texas, and Jen Feldman, a high school teacher from Brooklyn, New York. Jen, a one-day champion, enters the game with winnings of $13,800.

The game begins with the category “On the Map,” and the first Daily Double is found by Santhosh in the “Spoke” category. He adds $2,000 to his score by identifying Otto von Bismarck in an 1863 speech before the Prussian parliament. At the first break, Jen leads with $1,400, Santhosh has $4,200, and Sarah has $1,000.

Santhosh maintains his lead, but Jen is close behind as they approach the final category.

The third Daily Double is uncovered by Jen in the “Literary Title Math” category, but time expires before she can answer, costing her $1,500. Santhosh enters Final Jeopardy! with $9,400, followed by Jen with $9,000, and Sarah with $7,000.

In the Final Jeopardy! round, the clue is “Named for a Spanish queen, this Pacific island chain was a starting point for famous explorations of 1960 & 2012”, and the correct answer “What are the Mariana Islands?” stumps all three contestants. Jen’s wager of $1,050 is enough to secure her victory, bringing her two-day total to $27,850. Santhosh and Sarah finish with $0 and $6,000, respectively.
