Jeopardy! Monday October 28, 2024, Recap, Winner and Final Answer

Jeopardy! Ken Jennings

In Monday’s episode of Jeopardy!, three contestants stepped up to the podium: Heather Ryan, a health program director from Binghamton, New York; Ian Taylor, a food sales representative originally from Cleveland, Ohio; and Will Wallace, a game design director from Austin, Texas, currently holding a four-day winning streak with a total of $79,998.

The opening categories were World History, Books & Arthurs, On the “D-E-L”, Complete the Rhyming Phrase, Advertising, and Musical Nicknames. Ian gained early momentum, landing the first Daily Double in World History with the answer, “What is the Warsaw Pact?” This added $2,000 to his score, moving him up to a total of $4,400. By the first break, Ian held the lead with $4,600, while Heather had $3,600, and Will trailed with $1,000.

The Double Jeopardy! round introduced Extreme Canada, Exclamations!, Mythological Resumés, Medical Matters, Caution, and Compound Word Construction Zone. In Caution, Will wagered $2,000 on a Daily Double but was unsuccessful with “terra incognito” instead of “terra incognita,” which left him at $2,000. The final Daily Double, in Extreme Canada, saw Ian wager $1,000 and answer with “What is Arctic Ocean?” Although Ian couldn’t lock in the game, he maintained a solid lead with $17,400 going into Final Jeopardy!, followed by Heather at $9,800 and Will with $8,000.

The Final Jeopardy! clue, in the category Stage Musical Settings, referenced the Eldorado nightclub’s transformation into a Nazi headquarters in 1933, hinting at the fictional setting of “What is Kit Kat Club?” Both Ian and Heather answered correctly. Ian added $2,201, securing his victory with $19,601, while Heather’s total reached $19,600, a razor-thin finish behind him. Will ended the game with just $2, signaling the end of his four-game winning streak.
