Jeopardy! Friday November 1, 2024, Recap, Winner and Final Answer

Jeopardy! Ken Jennings

In Friday’s Jeopardy! episode, returning champion Greg Jolin faced new challengers Sam Cameron, a finance manager from North Dakota, and Julie Phillips, an attorney from Virginia. Greg entered with a previous win of $24,001 and quickly set a strong pace. The first round categories included “That’s So 19th Century,” “Only Murders in Buildings,” and “Resting in Forest Lawn Cemetery.”

Greg gained an early advantage, choosing a Daily Double in “Also a Cooking Verb” with the clue “To become pale or white with fear.” He correctly answered “blanch” and added $2,000 to his score, securing a lead of $6,000. By the first break, he maintained the lead at $4,800, with Julie at $2,200 and Sam at $1,000.

In Double Jeopardy!, the competition intensified. Categories such as “On the Map,” “Reptiles,” and “Among the Top British Baby Names” provided varied challenges. Sam took the lead briefly after securing the Daily Double in “Prime Numbers on TV” with a question on the real name of the character Eleven, from Stranger Things.

However, his $5,000 wager was a miscalculation, dropping his total to $7,400, giving Greg room to regain control. Greg then selected a high-stakes Daily Double in “On the Map,” identifying Yemen as the country bordering Saudi Arabia and Oman. His confident $6,000 wager bumped his total to $18,200, setting him comfortably ahead.

Heading into Final Jeopardy!, Greg stood at $23,000, Sam trailed with $13,000, and Julie remained in third with $6,600. The final category, “History & The Movies,” prompted contestants to identify the 1935 Best Picture winner set near the Pacific’s Tofua volcano. Only Greg responded correctly with “What is Mutiny on the Bounty?” adding $3,001 to finish with $26,001 and a two-day total of $50,002. Sam concluded with $2,999, and Julie finished with $2.
