Jeopardy! Key Art

In this latest episode of Jeopardy! on Monday, November 4, 2024, reigning champion Greg Jolin, a system specialist and accountant from Raymond, New Hampshire, faced off against Brian Frey, a journeyman originally from Syosset, New York, and Lindsey Simmons, an attorney from Marshall, Missouri. Greg entered the game with two wins and a total of $50,002 in prize money.

The game opened with categories such as “Dead Like Me,” “A Very Vanilla Category,” “Her First No. 1 Pop Hit,” and “The Quotable Oscar Wilde.” Early in the round, Brian made a bold move on a Daily Double in “The Quotable Oscar Wilde,” wagering his entire $3,000 but incorrectly guessing “What is Niagara Falls?” This error placed him behind while Greg continued to lead, ending the first round with $7,800 against Lindsey’s negative $1,200 and Brian’s $2,600.

In Double Jeopardy, the categories shifted to “World Flags,” “Health & Medicine,” “The Odyssey,” and “The ‘NE’ Add.” Brian uncovered all three Daily Doubles, aiming to catch up with Greg, who maintained his lead. In “World Flags,” Brian doubled his $3,000 to $6,000 with a correct answer, identifying the Southern Cross on Tokelau’s flag. However, he struggled on the third Daily Double in “Epics,” incorrectly responding with “War Horse” and losing $5,000. This misstep allowed Greg to solidify his lead, entering Final Jeopardy with $19,000, compared to Lindsey’s $5,600 and Brian’s $3,800.

The Final Jeopardy category, “19th Century Literature,” presented a challenging clue: “All introduced in the same chapter of a novel, Grimaud, Mousqueton & Bazin are the servants of these men.” Both Greg and Brian answered correctly with “Who are the Three Musketeers?” Greg’s additional $6,000 wager brought his final total to $25,000, clinching his third win with a three-day sum of $75,002. Lindsey ended with $3,399, while Brian finished in second with $7,599.
