It’s turkey time, and that means a slightly altered late-night landscape. While some hosts take a well-deserved break, Jimmy Kimmel keeps the lights on at ABC, offering a Thanksgiving week lineup that blends the familiar (Garth Brooks) with the, shall we say, less predictable (Knocked Loose featuring Poppy).
Kicking things off on Monday, November 25, country superstar Garth Brooks saddles up for a chat, plugging his latest endeavor, “The Anthology, Part IV: Going Home.” He’ll be pulling double duty, sticking around as the evening’s musical guest. Expect a healthy dose of nostalgia, some good-natured banter with Kimmel, and maybe even a few tears (mostly from the audience). Actor Drew Starkey, known for his role in Netflix’s “Outer Banks,” will also be on hand.
Tuesday, November 26, sees the return of Kathy Griffin, promoting her “My Life on the PTSD-List” comedy tour. Given Griffin’s, ahem, colorful history, one can only imagine the conversational fireworks she and Kimmel might ignite. This might be the most interesting of the bunch. Following Griffin, things take a decidedly harder turn with musical guests Knocked Loose and Poppy. This metal core/pop pairing should make for an…interesting…transition. Let’s just say it’s not your typical Thanksgiving fare.
Wednesday and Thursday’s guests remain shrouded in mystery at this point lurking behind the dreaded “TBC” curtains.
And rounding out the week, on Friday, November 29 (originally aired just last week on November 21), comedian Jim Gaffigan joins Kimmel to discuss his new special, “Jim Gaffigan: The Skinny.” We’ll probably hear about Hot Pockets, family life, and his never-ending quest for the perfect cheeseburger. Jason Kelce from ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” will also make an appearance.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on ABC.
