On Tuesday night Jimmy Kimmel Live! welcomes actor Colman Domingo, actress Sanaa Lathan, and the band KALEO to the show as part of its summer season. RuPaul will be hosting the episode.
Colman Domingo joins the show to discuss his role in the film Sing Sing, which premiered in 2023 and was released in the US in July 2024. The film is based on the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison, and centres on a group of inmates involved in creating theatrical stage shows. Domingo plays John “Divine G” Whitfield, an inmate who was a driving force behind the Rehabilitation Through the Arts programme and wrote many plays for it.
Sanaa Lathan will be discussing her new film, The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat, which premiered on August 7, 2024, and will be released in theatres and on Hulu later in August. The film follows three best friends, known as “The Supremes”, who have experienced life’s highs and lows together over several decades.
KALEO is an Icelandic blues rock band that formed in 2012. They have released three studio albums, Kaleo (2013), A/B (2016), and Surface Sounds (2021), as well as the EP Glasshouse (2013). Their single “All The Pretty Girls” is currently climbing the AAA charts, and they have been touring nationwide.
