On the Thursday June 13 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, actor Sean Penn will discuss his upcoming film “Daddio,” in which he stars alongside Dakota Johnson. The film, written and directed by Christy Hall, follows a young woman who has honest conversations with a taxi driver, played by Penn, about relationships, sex, loss, and vulnerability during a ride from JFK Airport to her Manhattan apartment. “Daddio” is Hall’s feature directorial debut.

The show will also feature Oscar-nominated actress June Squibb, known for her roles in “About Schmidt” and Nebraska, for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Squibb will discuss her latest film, “Thelma,” an action-comedy in which she stars as a 93-year-old woman seeking revenge on a phone scammer who duped her out of $10,000.

The folk-rock band The Avett Brothers will also perform. The band, consisting of brothers Scott and Seth Avett, Bob Crawford, and Joe Kwon, combines various genres, including bluegrass, country, punk, and pop, to create a unique sound. Their latest album, “The Avett Brothers,” was released on May 17, 2024, and they have announced a Fall 2024 US tour in support of the album.
