Joe Wilkinson and Katherine Ryan return to our screens Thursday 2 May on Channel 4 for the second episode of their travel series, Joe & Katherine’s Bargain Holidays. The pair, who have been friends for years, showcase how to enjoy luxurious holidays on a shoestring budget.
In tonight’s episode, Joe takes Katherine on a low-cost family seaside stay to the Bulgarian resort of Sozopol. However, Katherine’s flight is delayed, and Joe must start the trip without her. To make up for it, Joe volunteers to take part in some nerve-wracking water sports, hoping to bring a smile to Katherine’s face when she arrives. The pair then explore the medieval town, dine in old windmills, and take a trip on a pirate ship. They also find time to relax in a spa and enjoy the local beach.
Joe, a self-proclaimed bargain-hunter, is dedicated to finding the best deals and making savings wherever he goes. In contrast, Katherine, a luxury-lover, is willing to spend lavishly on fine dining and spa experiences. Despite their differences, they unite in their quest to uncover the best budget-friendly holiday destinations, activities, and restaurants.
Joe Wilkinson is an English comedian, actor, and screenwriter. He began his comedy career in 2004 and has appeared on various TV shows, including Live at the Electric, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and Him & Her. Katherine Ryan, a Canadian-Irish comedian, writer, and presenter, is known for her appearances on British TV and radio panel shows, including 8 Out of 10 Cats, Mock the Week, and Have I Got News for You.
