Comedian Joe Lycett continues his absurdly charming mission to put Birmingham, UK, “firmly back on the map” in the second episode of “Joe Lycett’s United States of Birmingham.” This week, he sets his sights on Ohio, a state apparently teeming with towns sharing his beloved city’s name. Ohio might not be top of mind for the average traveler, but it boasts the most Birminghams of any US state.
Lycett’s goal is to form “Friendship Agreements” with as many US Birminghams as he can find, building an international network of like-minded communities. He’s on a quest to prove that great minds – or at least, similarly named towns – think alike. The series is building towards an “International Day of Birmingham,” where Lycett plans to welcome his new American “chums” to his hometown for a hearty dose of UK hospitality.
As Lycett travels the highways and byways of Ohio, expect his signature mix of witty observation and awkward encounters. Will he conquer Ohio, one Birmingham at a time? Find out on Sky Max, Tuesday, 29 April at 9:00 PM BST.
