John Mulaney Special “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman” April 30 on Netflix

David Letterman will interview John Mulaney in a special standalone episode of “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.” The episode, filmed at Mulaney’s high school in Chicago, will see the pair discuss fatherhood, stand-up comedy, and addiction.

Mulaney, a three-time Emmy Award winner, is a Chicago-born comedian, actor, writer, and producer. He first gained prominence as a writer for “Saturday Night Live,” where he co-created the popular character Stefon. Mulaney has since hosted “SNL” multiple times and has released several stand-up specials on Netflix.

In the episode, Mulaney recalls his earliest jokes, including a childhood memory of telling his father’s law colleagues that he wanted to be a sex therapist. Letterman remarks, “Wow, that’s pretty edgy, esoteric stuff.

My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman” is a talk show that premiered on Netflix in January 2018. The series features Letterman interviewing fascinating global figures and exploring topics both inside and outside a studio setting. The show has received positive reviews and has been nominated for multiple Primetime Emmy Awards.
