ITV has greenlit a sixth series of the popular detective drama Grace, starring John Simm as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace. Filming for the four new feature-length episodes will start in Brighton in the summer of 2025.
Here’s the Lowdown: Simm will be back as Roy Grace, alongside Richie Campbell as DI Glenn Branson, Zoë Tapper as Cleo Morey, Laura Elphinstone as DS Bella Moy, and Brad Morrison as DC Nick Nicholl. The series is based on Peter James’s best-selling novels. Series 5, filmed in 2024, will premiere on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player this spring and will cover the novels; Dead If You Don’t, Dead At First Sight, Need You Dead and Find Them Dead.
What This Means Now: Fans of the show can breathe easy, knowing more Grace is on the way. The recommission confirms the series’ continued popularity and ITV’s confidence in its success.
The Bigger Picture: Grace is a co-production between Tall Story Pictures (part of ITV Studios) and Vaudeville Productions, with executive producers including Phil Hunter, Andrew O’Connor, Paul Sandler, Kiaran Murray-Smith, Peter James, and John Simm himself. The show’s international distribution is handled by ITV Studios, and it’s also a BritBox Original in North America and Australia. Author Peter James says that the adaptions “are the best adaptations of my work that I’ve ever experienced”.
