Judges Announced for Channel 4’s “Five Star Kitchen: Britain’s Next Great Chef”

The new cooking competition Five Star Kitchen: Britain’s Next Great Chef will feature Michel Roux Jr. as a judge alongside pastry master and hospitality consultant Ravneet Gill and leading global restaurateur and chef Mike Reid. The series premiere on Channel 4 on Thursday, June 8 in the United Kingdom, and later this year on Netflix in all regions except the United Kingdom and Ireland.

What is the new series about

In this new, high-stakes cooking competition hosted by Michel Roux Jr., aspiring chefs compete for the chance to open their own restaurant in one of the world’s most prestigious five-star hotels, The Langham, London.

Michel, Ravneet, and Mike will test the chefs’ mettle over the course of six episodes with a series of epic challenges reflective of the standards of five-star dining. They have to show they can manage a top-tier establishment and serve food worthy of a Michelin star.

The chefs at The Langham are put through their paces with everything from lavish banquets and late-night room service to an exclusive chef’s table and the hotel’s busy lunch service. Who among the chefs has the mettle, focus, and business sense to make it to the very top?

The chefs come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and they each have their own ideas for how they want to run their own restaurant. However, before they can make their dreams a reality, they must first survive the most stressful job interview they’ve ever had.
