Apparently, there’s more to baking than soggy bottoms. Thursday’s Junior Bake Off brings a dose of social consciousness to the usual sugary proceedings. Under the watchful eye of host Harry Hill, sixteen young bakers will tackle Dessert Day, armed with whisks, piping bags, and presumably, some strongly held beliefs.
The Technical challenge will no doubt push their pastry prowess to the limit, while the Showstopper introduces a new twist: “cheesecakes for change.” Each creation must represent a cause dear to the baker’s heart, adding a feel-good element to the usual competitive bake-off. Will their activism be as well-executed as their choux pastry? Tune in to find out.
