Karen Kingsbury’s “Someone Like You” Arrives on Great American Family, Saturday, February 22

Someone Like You Key Art

After a brief dalliance with the wilds of streaming on Pure Flix, Karen Kingsbury’s Someone Like You makes its cable television debut on Great American Family. The film, adapted from Kingsbury’s novel of the same name, follows a familiar formula for the author: faith, family, and finding love in unexpected places.

Sarah Fisher and Jake Allyn take the lead as the likely star-crossed lovers, while a supporting cast including Lynn Collins, Scott Reeves, Robyn Lively, and Bart Johnson fills out the roles of wise parents, supportive friends, or perhaps a meddling ex or two. Kingsbury, along with her son Tyler Russell, penned the screenplay, with Russell also taking the directorial reins. This family affair behind the scenes suggests a certain level of dedication to staying true to the source material.
