The Dutton story isn’t finished yet. CBS has given the green light to “Y: Marshals,” a new “Yellowstone” spinoff that will bring back Luke Grimes as fan favorite Kayce Dutton. You’ll see Kayce trade the ranch for a badge, as he joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals operating in Montana. The network has ordered 13 episodes of the drama, with a planned debut sometime in 2026.

This latest chapter in the ever-growing “Yellowstone” universe sees Kayce leave the familiar territory of the Yellowstone Ranch behind. As a U.S. Marshal, he’ll face different kinds of threats and challenges, trading cattle wrangling for law enforcement on a larger scale.

Spencer Hudnut developed “Y: Marshals” and is set to run the show for its first season. Luke Grimes will also have a hand in shaping the series, stepping into an executive producer role alongside “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan.

The show plans to explore the weight of Kayce’s new job, looking at the tightrope he walks between his family life, his duties as a Marshal, and the mental toll that kind of work takes. Right now, it’s unknown if other actors from the main “Yellowstone” series will make appearances, but given the interconnected nature of the franchise, guest spots seem likely. “Y: Marshals” comes from MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, the same teams behind the original series.
