CBS is cranking up the volume this fall with The Road, a new unscripted music competition designed to fast-track country talent onto the national stage—literally. The show premieres Sunday nights at 9:00 PM ET/PT starting this fall.
At the heart of the format is a high-pressure opportunity: 12 rising artists will compete for a slot as opening act on Keith Urban’s tour. Each stop is a new challenge, a new crowd, and a new shot at stardom. What they don’t know yet is what the winner will actually take home.
The talent lineup is packed with artists from across the country:
* Adam Sanders, 36, Lake City, Florida
* Billie Jo Jones, 34, Emory, Texas
* Blaine Bailey, 23, Tahlequah, Oklahoma
* Briana Adams, 30, Winchester, Texas
* Britnee Kellogg, 40, Anthem, Arizona
* Cassidy Daniels, 25, Marion, North Carolina
* Channing Wilson, 49, Lafayette, Georgia
* Cody Hibbard, 32, Adair, Oklahoma
* Forrest McCurren, 35, Jefferson City, Missouri
* Jenny Tolman, 29, Nashville, Tennessee
* Jon Wood, 28, Wake Forest, North Carolina
* Olivia Harms, 29, Canby, Oregon
The show pairs raw talent with serious firepower behind the scenes. Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan are executive producing, alongside Gretchen Wilson, who steps in as the series’ no-nonsense “Tour Manager.” Guest mentors and performers from the country music world will also drop in throughout the season.
The Road is a joint production between MTV Entertainment Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions, Lucky Horseshoe Productions, 101 Studios, and Keith Urban himself. Viewers can stream episodes live and on-demand via Paramount+, with next-day access for Essential tier subscribers.
Fall’s country competition calendar just got crowded—and CBS is betting on The Road to lead the pack.
