History Channel saddles up with Kevin Costner for a new series exploring the creation of the American West. “Kevin Costner’s The West” premieres this Monday with “Fallen Timbers,” an episode that takes viewers back to a pivotal moment in the clash between American settlers and Native American tribes.

The episode focuses on the fight for control of the Northwest Territory, with Chief Little Turtle leading the Indian Nations against the U.S. Army, resulting in a major Native American victory over the inexperienced troops. This will be followed by the counteroffensive by the equally fierce General “Mad” Anthony Wayne which will bring defeat to the Confederacy of Indian Nations.
