Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship is back, and this time, it’s going to the zoo – or at least, the bakers will be. The upcoming season, “Amazing Animals,” premieres Monday, January 6th at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with a menagerie of edible creations and plenty of youthful baking enthusiasm. Returning hosts Duff Goldman and Kardea Brown will once again navigate the sugar-coated chaos, providing guidance and encouragement to twelve young competitors.
The season’s animal theme will be a recurring motif, guiding the challenges and inspiring a wide range of desserts. While specific details remain scarce, early promotional material hints at challenges featuring jungle creatures, sea life, and farm animals. Expect elaborate animal-shaped cakes, intricately decorated cookies, and perhaps some surprisingly realistic fondant critters.
The competition looks set to be fierce. Contestants will be tested on their ability to not only bake technically sound treats, but also to craft aesthetically pleasing designs, effectively capturing the essence of their chosen animal. The challenges are designed to push the young bakers beyond their comfort zones and to test the limits of their imagination and pastry skills.
The winner, of course, takes home $25,000 and a coveted spot in Food Network Magazine. But for the contestants, the real prize might be the experience itself – a chance to present their talent on a national stage and learn from the best in the business.
