Melissa Joan Hart takes on a darker role in Lifetime’s latest thriller, Killing the Competition. Hart, who also executive produces, stars in this ripped-from-the-headlines story about a mother who takes her daughter’s high school dance team rejection a little too personally.
When her daughter is cut from the squad, this overzealous mom decides to take matters into her own hands, resorting to increasingly desperate measures to reclaim what she believes is rightfully her daughter’s. What begins as meddling quickly escalates into a shocking kidnapping plot, demonstrating just how far some parents will go to secure their children’s perceived success.
Joining Hart are Anzu Lawson as Nicole, Eddie Mills as Steve, Lily Brooks O’Briant as Grace, and Valerie Loo as Hannah. The film is written by Christina Welsh and Jane Espenson and directed by Lee Gabiana.
