Steven and Adeola of Stevenage have been locked in a three-year stalemate. He wants to list it; she wants to love it. Enter Kirstie and Phil, the property-meddling duo who thrive on domestic discord. This week’s Love It or List It finds them in Hertfordshire, grappling with a house that seems determined to defy logic and good taste.
Steven’s complaints are numerous: lack of storage, a layout that looks like it was designed by a drunken octopus, and an ensuite bathroom inexplicably transformed into a walk-in wardrobe. (Because who needs ventilation when you have shoes?) Kirstie, armed with a £45,000 budget, sets about trying to fix the mess, starting with that offending garage.
Meanwhile, Phil is off house-hunting, desperately seeking a property that will meet Steven’s exacting standards and lure him away from Adeola’s renovation dreams.
Will Kirstie’s design wizardry prevail, or will Phil’s siren song of a new home prove too tempting? Given the track record of this long-running series, the odds are roughly 50/50.
