Apparently, someone at Food Network realized that they hadn’t exhausted every possible food-related pun, so they’ve decided to give us “Hook, Line, and Sizzle.”
This week, The Kitchen crew is tackling seafood, which, given the show’s title, was probably inevitable. Jeff Mauro, the sandwich king himself, is tasked with highlighting the best seafood dishes the show has ever “reeled in.” I’m picturing a montage of glistening fish, perfectly seared scallops, and maybe even a dramatic slow-motion shot of someone expertly flipping a crab cake.
The culinary lineup includes Geoffrey Zakarian’s classic Halibut en Papillote, Sunny Anderson’s Ahi Tuna Poke with Plantain Chips, Alex Guarnaschelli’s fresh Crab Louie, and Katie Lee Biegel’s Lobster Roll Panzanella. It’s a pescatarian’s paradise. Jeff also offers tips on searing salmon and whips up Fried Shrimp with Atomic Cocktail Sauce.
Not to be outdone, Geoffrey Zakarian, never one to shy away from a culinary challenge, prepares Fish Tacos with Papaya Slaw, presumably with his signature Iron Chef flair. Let’s just hope no one drops a live lobster on set.
