Channel 4 has teamed up with the Department for Education (DfE) again for a new branded entertainment series, Undercover Education, set to launch in 2025. Hosted by Konnie Huq, the show uses a lighthearted format to explore careers in further education.

Here’s the Lowdown: Described as a “prank show with purpose,” the series features skilled professionals from construction, mechanics, and catering unknowingly guiding an “intern.” This intern is actually an undercover further education teacher, fed conversation starters by Konnie Huq and students via an earpiece. The aim is to see if the professionals naturally possess the skills and patience to teach.

What This Means Now: Undercover Education will be available across Channel 4’s digital platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Channel 4 streaming, starting sometime in 2025. Produced by Zandland, it’s designed to showcase the potential many industry experts have for teaching roles within further education, highlighting their real-world experience.

The Bigger Picture: This marks the third partnership in 2025 between Channel 4 and the DfE, brokered by OmniGOV at MG OMD. It demonstrates Channel 4’s focus on creating engaging branded content that addresses specific campaign goals – in this case, encouraging people to consider careers as further education teachers by revealing their innate mentoring abilities through a fun, observational setup.
