Lake District Rescue shines a spotlight on the dedicated members of the Lake District Mountain Rescue Association, who are on call 24/7 to assist those in need amid the region’s wild terrain and unpredictable weather.
In this fourth episode airing on More4 on Sunday 28 April, the Keswick Mountain Rescue team faces a challenging situation as they respond to a fallen scrambler with head and neck injuries. The casualty has been lodged at the edge of a waterfall for hours, and moving him could lead to further complications. However, with hypothermia setting in due to the cold mountain water, the team must act quickly.
On the other side of the Lake District, a marathon takes place under scorching temperatures nearing 30 degrees, creating a different set of challenges for the rescue teams.
Through candid interviews with rescuers and those they aid, this series offers a glimpse into the hundreds of emergencies the teams responded to in 2023, highlighting their dedication and expertise.
